Encapsulation

LCT’s encapsulation technology, IMMUPEL™, is based on a patented process which involves wrapping healthy, living cells in a tiny alginate capsule, allowing them to be safely implanted into patients without the need for immunosuppression. These cells act to replace or repair damaged tissue in patients.

The technology is amenable to delivery of many different types of living cells including insulin-producing islets, choroid plexus, stem cells, Schwann cells, and more.
